Gene Good, J.D., CPA, MAcc, Senior Management Consultant, Partner
As a Senior Management Consultant, Gene blends a sound foundation of financial and legal experience with his passion for helping physicians grow their medical practices. Gene carefully guides clients in assessing their professional and personal goals, and then develops a viable plan to achieve those goals.
Gene is dedicated to helping clients succeed, and the high level of success his clients enjoy is evidence of this. His commitment reverberates throughout the practice as he creates cohesion within the entire organization. This cohesion enables the physicians and staff to work toward a shared vision for improvement and success.
Gene’s strategy for clients focuses on four key areas of practice development: increase practice volume, enhance the patient experience, improve employee morale, and increase physician take-home income. Improving these key areas of a practice ultimately results in a greater overall practice value.
Gene earned an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of South Florida and a tax and law degree from the University of Florida.
Prior to joining DoctorsManagement, Gene worked as a financial analyst at Ernst & Young; as assistant controller of a multi-national, a non-profit organization; and as a partner in a real estate consulting group.
Jesse D. Overbay, JD
Management Consultant, Associate General Counsel
In addition to a successful background practicing corporate law, Jesse brings innate business consulting skills to DoctorsManagement clients. He helps clients create sound business models and reduce the stress that comes with owning a medical practice. Jesse serves clients in all medical specialties and, with the help of the DM team of experts, helps clients improve their operations, billing, coding, compliance, IT, accounting, marketing, and strategic planning.
Prior to joining DoctorsManagement, Jesse spent five years practicing civil litigation and chapter 11 corporate bankruptcy law for a prominent firm in Knoxville, Tennessee. Jesse’s dedication and skillful negotiating provided his clients with optimal results often through out-of-court settlements and mediations. While Jesse carefully analyzed financial data, he also looked beyond the numbers to identify the underlying problems that caused the company to enter into bankruptcy. As a result, he helped many clients to reorganize, emerge from bankruptcy, and transform into a profitable and thriving organization. Jesse’s natural consultative approach is appreciated by medical practices that need a trained outside eye to help create positive business outcomes.
Jesse earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education (sports management) with a minor in business management as well as his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Jesse and his wife, Kristen, reside in Knoxville with their daughter and miniature dachshund. He enjoys playing basketball, golf, hiking, camping, and spending time and traveling with his family.
